Holding Fee to Reserve a Puppy
The starting price for our puppies is $5000. To better understand our pricing, see below for breeding and litter costs.
A reservation fee is required to hold a puppy, whether before or after the litter is born. Before making any payment, the Buyer will receive a reservation contract to review and sign. Payments can be made via Interac e-Transfer. To ensure a smooth and secure process, the remaining balance is due upon delivery.
Once you've committed by signing the contract and submitting the reservation fee, you'll receive weekly photos and videos so you can follow your puppy's growth and development every step of the way.
Once your puppy has been cleared by our vet and a health certificate has been obtained (at or around 8 to 10 weeks of age), your new family member will be ready to go home. We personally deliver each puppy to their future home. We will contact you beforehand to make all necessary arrangements.
If the puppy has not been picked up by the agreed-upon date and no alternative arrangements have been made, the reservation to hold the puppy may be forfeited, and the puppy will be made available to another family.
We understand unexpected things do happen and are always willing to work with our new families. We just ask that you stay in contact with us should anything come up.
*All reservation/holding fees are non-refundable.
Breeding rights
Breeding (Full) Rights
We breed with passion and love, dedicating all our time and effort to our babies. We know the breeding world and are aware of the many backyard breeders and puppy mills breeding only for money and not to better the breed. For that reason, we are extremely selective about whom we sell our puppies with breeding rights to.
We reserve the right to ask as many questions as deemed necessary and to refuse anyone we find doesn't share our values. There is an extra fee for anyone buying a puppy with full breeding rights; that extra fee depends on the puppy and colour.
Why Are Frenchies So Expensive?
Breeding healthy Frenchies properly takes years of work and real investment. Here is what goes into one litter, before the cost of the mother.
| A well-bred female | $8,000–$15,000+ |
| Her yearly careQuality food, vet care and grooming | $1,000–$2,000 |
| Health testing, per dogX-rays, OFA certification and DNA tests | $2,000+ |
| Stud feeAfter many hours researching pedigrees and healthy lines | $1,000–$5,000 |
| Progesterone testingAbout $120 per test, every other day | $300–$500 |
| Artificial inseminationPlus $450 for collection and travel to the clinic | ≈ $250 |
| Pregnancy ultrasoundAt four weeks | ≈ $150 |
| Whelping suppliesIncubator, tube-feeding supplies, heating pads, scale, milk replacer at about $120 a week | $2,500+ |
| C-sectionScheduled about $2,000; emergency at night or on weekends | $2,000–$9,000 |
| Raising one litter | $5,000–$9,000 |
Most are born by C-section
Their short, flat faces make natural birth risky for mother and puppies.
Waking up every 2 hours
We make sure mama is nursing. We sleep in the same room as mama and the babies, and we put in the work supporting her and making sure every baby is getting enough milk.
Around-the-clock care
For the first 3 to 4 weeks we can't leave the house. Puppies need care around the clock, making sure they stay warm under the heat lamp and on heat blankets.
Every puppy weighed daily
A healthy pup gains about 1 oz a day. If not, we supplement.
Small litters
Litters average 3 to 5 puppies.
Not every female qualifies
A female who fails health testing is spayed and rehomed, a loss of $10,000 to $20,000.
A word on cheap listings
A $2,000 Frenchie on a classified site usually means this care was skipped, and the savings often go to vet bills later.
